We all have hang-ups, but it doesn't mean we go through life as a jerk. Plus, it also plays into the whole crime and suspense aspect of the book. The small-town characters were plentiful and colourful! Soon enough the whole town and Knox's sexy brother Nash alongside mysterious Lucian will be enamored with Naomi, giving us that small town vibe protecting their own. I got choked up with emotion and ate up all the drama. Smalltown romances are one of our favourites, add a grumpy hero whose actions speak louder than his words, intense chemistry with an adorable strong, and funny heroine as well as a bit of suspense and humour and well… we're in reading heaven. Their antagonistic dynamic is endlessly entertaining, but there is an attraction there that is undeniable, and the sexual tension builds brilliantly until they let it all out in a blisteringly hot encounter. With over 500 pages, I only wanted to this story to go on and on. I loved how the author caught my immediate attention when she introduced the main characters of the story. Case in point, Things We Never Got Over.
