Tube Mountain Bike Tire Won't Seat Properly In Rim. Help Needed
Joined: Sat May 12, 2012 7:25 pm. Turns out, a 16 inch tire wouldn't go on a 16. I've been running clinchers on my TLR wheels and they were a pain to seat as certain sections were too deep in the rim for some odd reason until they finally seated correctly after coaxing them in various ways. The Halibrand magnesium 10 spokes were the problem in my case, I had to turn them down on the lathe to get todays tires to fit yesterdays are M&H 22x3 1/2x15. Slightly off, enough to give the illusion of a bent rim. Maybe the wires that run through the bread of the tire snapped, allowing the bead to stretch easily on and off the seating point of the rim. They arrived pretty squashed flat so now the edges are too close together to catch and inflate. Tire Bead Won't Seal... Non-Wing. Deflate, lube up with soapy water, try again. I am restoring a Front Enginr Dragster that has a leafspring frontend. Alright, I have gotten both tires to fully inflate and seal with the Stans sealant, but it's obvious that the tires are just not fitting with these wheels. They are 20x11-9, so they shouldn't be too narrow, unless they were somehow mislabled. Dont be skeered lol... all these threads but not too many about blowing a tire apart... Mount the second bead, pump up the tire, done. With any luck, one of these methods will get your tire holding air again so you can get back on the road.

Hey fellas, I am having trouble getting the rear tire on the ultra to seat. Use a 2" ratchet strap tighten it a bit on the center of the tire. It doesn't need to be really tight so just a little bit can help. Whacked it with the bead blaster, and got 3/4 of the bead to seat. FWIW, I have seen a tire having a small nodule of extra rubber sometimes... Tire isn't seating evenly. maybe this is another case of that... Aaarg! Graydon Proline nerfs. I have 2 sets to mount. If you've ever had a tire go flat, you know the drill: You jack up the car, remove the wheel, and then use a tire iron to pry off the old tire. Mounting the tire is a little more tricky, but not too bad with some patience. There is a 70% chance that what you have just read has a peppering of cynicism or sarcasm and generally should not be taken seriously. I will say a backhoe stabilizer makes a great tool bead breaker. Are you 100% certain the year model of the CLXs you have are "2bliss ready" and the tires are 5000TL and not the regular 5000? The most common method is to use an air compressor, but there are also other methods that don't require any fancy equipment. But they may have one that does that too, not sure. Is there rim tape poking up in locations, could be pushing the bead back out too far? They are trued and look good. I've also read that warming the tires up a bit will soften them and they may seat.
You're not talking about a bead cheeta are you? Pop the bead and turn reair it up and hope. You've been sitting on this for too long!
