Now in its 16th year, the South Lake Union Block Party is the largest and longest running festival focused on celebrating and showcasing the SLU neighborhood. Steamroller Smackdown Joins the Party. The School of Visual Concepts is back with the annual Steamroller Smackdown. We'll be giving away prizes and facilitating casual networking so you can get to know new people and expand your network. It is a cool free concert gathering in the park with music going on throughout the day, food trucks and a beer tent. Having never heard of these bands, I found the Smoky Brights to be better than the headliners. The city looks beautiful, the people are out and there's all sorts of fun and free events going on!
