Should Henry come back victorious, it will be a great boost for Catherine as well. She has succeeded in convincing Henry to do his husbandly duties, despite Diane's constant efforts to keep the two of them apart. Still, the threat of Henry's second marriage looms on her until she actually gives him an heir. Archie, however, has other ideas about Percival. One that gave no agency or mind to having to do extreme things to keep her standing or keep her safety going. For when we catch up with Princess Catherine de' Medici in 'A New Era', fifteen peaceful years have passed. What turned an innocent teenager into a cunning and fearsome queen? The thoughts Jughead reads rank between Toni not being fit to be a mother to her putting her child in harm's way and more harsh stuff. To make his father feel better about him is Henry's soft spot and Catherine intelligently makes use of it. Tabitha posted Toni's bail, but Percival won't let her leave until the morning. But what matters more, is that this story did a wonderful job of exploring how being a villain or a bad person, or a Queen that instilled fear in all… isn't a 24-7 gig, and it can take years of damage and devastation to finally bring that person to their respective darkness and the show deserves a round of applause for showing us that and Samantha Morton deserves one as well. As though those who wish to commit harm or do so… are endlessly twirling their proverbial mustache from beneath their black top hat and cloak, pondering upon how best to destabilize the world and lives. With Percival elected on the town council, killing 22 Ghoulies and maybe almost killing the Serpents, Archie, Betty, and Jughead are at a loss of what to do.

Fangs isn't so much into the idea. Meanwhile, Abigail's determination raises suspicion among Archie, Betty, and Jughead. Despite being overridden and shushed and told that her warnings about potential conflict were foolish, and she also opted to slowly sink back into a more powerful line of thinking, because of her cousin. But of course, what keeps darkness thriving in this world, is the sheer fact that the good times never last and we are tested as often as we receive complete and utter peace. For the country is secure, there is peace and well… it was fascinating to see that Catherine was nothing more than a mother for a chunk of this tale. Toni gets a call from Twyla Twyst, who is standing next to Percival Pickens, who just so happens to have Baby Anthony. A move that stunned Catherine to no end, since it taught her that she underestimated her cousin and her need for agency and that she would be a difficult nightmare to deal with and of course… she also came to realize, that her spot on the council was a joke to her husband. She meets the Ottomans in secret and strikes a deal, which facilitates the alliance with France. A lot of things are riding against Catherine, but despite this, she elevates her status to become the most powerful person in France. Once the two of them reunite, they will get rid of Fangs.

Toni tells Janet she would never do anything to put Anthony in harm's way. There was no trace of him before he showed up in Riverdale.
