Loved how they had a male to speak castile point of view this time. Problem with Narrator! Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. I feel like I'm missing out on some backstories because I simply can't keep track of it all in my head. And we're back again with a The War of Two Queens review! On a tangential note, they are consent kings in these books, and I do appreciate that. Found it better then the last however, the first book in this series is my favorite. And I can never look away. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable. Men like that just didn't exist in real life - silky shoulder-length hair, chest impossibly broad, and a predatory manner that just screamed dark and dangerous. I am just done with this author and these stories. I loved Reaver, not to mention Kieran and the fantastic wolvens loyal to their Queen, Poppy; the secondary characters were all awesome, Vonetta, Delano, Emil, Naill, Hisa, Tawny, just to name a few. All I can say is get ready. Make the Primal of Death fall in love, become his weakness, and him. There were two things that bothered me. So I wonder what kind of revelations there will be in book 5 and 6 to keep this series interesting.
Eventually, Poppy does speak with Isbeth, who grants her the option to either see her father or Casteel, and Poppy chooses to see Casteel. We get to really see Poppy's strength in this book. I've loved this book series very much and have listened to them multiple times… that being said, anyone who is surprised and upset at what happens in chapter 44… OMGoodness, GET OVER IT! The Revenant tells Poppy that Isbeth is inviting them over to discuss some things, and reluctantly, Kieran, Reaver (who has been traveling with them) and Poppy go with her, after Poppy passes out. Overall, there were definitely some things I enjoyed, and things I was severely disappointed with.
