Sailing activities brought the Lilley s to Oriental, NC where they joined the Oriental United Methodist Church and served on the Missions Committee, became active at the Pamlico County Fishes and Loaves Outreach and assisted with construction of the three Pamlico County Habitat for Humanity houses. He was the oldest of nine children. Lee, a life-long resident of Pamlico County, was born January 2, 1914 to Sarah Rowe Bray and Charles Edward Bray Sr. in Merritt where she lived until her marriage to Harry Bunting Lee of Arapahoe in 1934.
